Trint
Trint: AI transcription, collaborative editing and newsroom tools
Trint turns interviews, recorded footage and live speech into editable transcripts. Its playback-linked editor, shared drives, captions and Story Builder make it particularly relevant to journalists and production teams. Recorded transcription supports 50+ languages; translation supports 70+, with live capture and collaboration limits depending on the plan.

From interviews and footage to transcripts, captions and stories
Trint gives journalists and producers a place to work with spoken material after transcription. Click through the text while listening to the original recording, correct speaker names and mark passages with highlights or comments. Dictionary entries help with recurring names and specialist vocabulary. Team shared drives keep recordings and transcripts available to collaborators, with real-time editing for up to five people.
Story Builder brings selected quotes from several recordings into a draft with links back to the source media. DOCX supports written stories; EDL and XML help move a rough cut into production software. The Caption Editor creates a separate caption file for subtitles, including SRT and VTT exports. Caption edits and transcript edits do not synchronize automatically, and the former interactive HTML export is no longer available.
Trint Live and its licensed mobile and desktop apps extend capture beyond file uploads. Standard plans have a monthly live allowance; advanced live capture and API integrations belong to Business. Trint processes customer content in the cloud and says it does not use that content to train its own AI. Original uploaded media is retained for thirty days, while transcripts and transcoded playback remain until deletion.
Best for
- Journalists editing recorded interviews
- Production teams building stories from footage
- Newsrooms sharing transcripts, captions and rough cuts
Limitations
“Unlimited” recorded transcription has fair-use exclusions for bulk and archive projects. Live hours are limited on Pro/Team, and Team requires at least two seats. The trial processes only five minutes per file. URLs cannot be uploaded directly, and caption edits do not synchronize with the source transcript.

Is Trint free?
Trint has a seven-day trial rather than a permanent free plan. The trial transcribes only the first five minutes of three files; paid use requires a subscription.
How much does Trint cost?
The regional EUR price list shows Pro at EUR 85/seat/month and Team at EUR 78/seat/month with at least two seats. Annual totals are EUR 828 and EUR 708 per seat respectively. Business has custom pricing.
Can Trint transcribe live speech?
Yes. Trint Live supports 40+ languages. Pro includes one live hour per month; Team includes one hour per seat per month. More advanced live capture options are Business features.
Does Trint use recordings to train AI?
Trint says customer data is not used to train or improve its own models. Processing is cloud-based; deleting original uploads after thirty days does not also delete the transcripts and transcoded playback.
