Song creation and editing within Udio
Udio creates songs from a description, custom lyrics and musical references. Prompts can describe genre, instruments, mood or tempo, while Instrumental Mode produces music without vocals. Styles uses existing songs or permitted audio references to guide a new creation, with blending and advanced options depending on the plan. The current service is suitable for exploring and listening within Udio: downloads of generated audio, video and stems are disabled.
Paid subscribers can use Sessions to extend songs, replace a highlighted section, adjust lyrics and compare alternative takes. Changes are saved with undo support, and direct editing is limited to songs the creator owns within the service. Voices provides reusable singing voices from its library or eligible native Udio songs. It does not accept an uploaded personal voice as a voice source, and songs associated with audio uploads are excluded. Voices works on the web, including mobile web, rather than the iOS app.
Standard and Pro subscriptions increase monthly generation credits and concurrent creation limits. They do not restore audio exports or grant unrestricted commercial use. Current terms prohibit off-platform output downloading and distribution, with a narrow exception for permitted hyperlink sharing, and prohibit commercial exploitation. Inputs and generated output may be used to improve the service. The subscription decision therefore concerns in-platform creation and editing, rather than delivery of downloadable music for videos, streaming distribution or client projects.
