Generate and revise audio for a production session
Stable Audio combines prompt-led audio creation with ways to develop an existing idea. Its current web app creates short loops, cues and compositions up to six minutes. Audio-to-audio editing can produce variations from an input, while inpainting replaces sections without starting the entire track again. Stem generation and export are available as an experimental feature.
The Mac plugin brings generation into a production session. VST3 and AU are available, with Windows and AAX support still listed as coming soon. Tempo sync follows the host DAW, and a generated result can be dragged onto a track. Saved presets, seed control and a session playlist help revisit settings and earlier takes. Large runs in the cloud; Medium music and Small SFX offer on-device options.
Paid subscriptions license generated audio for commercial use, and the original paid-tier licence continues after cancellation. Free web generation is personal and noncommercial. Downloaded model licensing and API billing are separate from the consumer plan. Output ownership is subject to applicable law, and the service terms allow content use for improvement and training with opt-out provisions.

Limitations
Free web audio is noncommercial. Stem export is experimental. The plugin currently supports Mac VST3/AU; Windows and AAX are coming soon.
