Visual content with editable structure and data
Piktochart focuses on explaining information visually. Start from a topic, paste source text or upload a TXT, DOCX or PDF document, then refine the generated structure in the editor. Layouts, wording, icons, images and colours remain editable. The Preserve Content option in Document format can retain existing source charts and tables visually.
The editor’s chart tools support manual data entry, XLS/XLSX or CSV imports and a linked Google Sheet. Chart labels, axes and colours can be adjusted. Google Sheets changes require unlinking and relinking the data in the editor; they are not a continuous automatic sync. Published charts can be interactive, while downloaded images and PDFs are static.
Download access is a major plan difference. Free includes two PNG downloads for the life of the account. Pro adds unlimited PNG downloads; Business adds PDF and PowerPoint. PowerPoint export works only for Presentation-format projects. Charts and maps become static images, complex SVGs may become PNGs, grouping is lost and fonts or bullet positioning can change.
Business adds reusable brand colours, custom fonts, logos and branded templates. Shared workspaces support visual collaboration and feedback. AI credits renew monthly, but different actions consume different amounts: creating an infographic from a topic, processing a document and generating an image are separate credit costs.

Limitations
Free downloads are limited to two and do not renew. PDF and PowerPoint require Business; PowerPoint works only for Presentation format and flattens charts/maps. Linked Google Sheets data needs a manual refresh in the editor.

Is Piktochart free?
Yes. Free includes 60 AI credits each month, unlimited visual projects and two PNG downloads. The two download credits are lifetime allowances and do not renew.
Which Piktochart plan exports PDF and PowerPoint?
Business supports PDF and PowerPoint downloads. PowerPoint is available only for projects created in Presentation format.
Are Piktochart charts editable in PowerPoint?
Charts and maps export as static images. Other elements can also change: grouping is lost, complex SVGs may become PNGs and fonts or bullets may need adjustment.
Does linked Google Sheets data update automatically?
Changes require you to unlink and relink the updated data in the Piktochart editor. A downloaded copy also needs to be exported again.
