Company knowledge for AI answers and actions
Glean brings search and AI assistance to information spread across documents, messages and business applications. Its connectors index content and mirror source permissions so results reflect what the user can access. Native connectors, partner integrations and the Indexing API serve different kinds of systems. Live tools retrieve information or perform actions at request time; a tool connection alone does not make all of its content searchable.
Glean Assistant uses company context for answers, research and content creation. Teams can generate documents, slides and other artifacts, analyse business information or produce meeting summaries. Its current product page also presents shared chat, proactive assistance and cross-system delegation in beta, so access to those newer capabilities depends on rollout and the organisation’s configuration.
Agents turn recurring requests into multi-step work across connected tools. A reusable agent can be shared with viewers or editors, while administrators govern creation and access. Tools have their own approval settings, and an administrator’s restriction takes precedence over a user’s choices. Connector freshness, available models and enabled actions all affect what a deployed agent can do.
Glean is sold as an enterprise service rather than a personal notes subscription. Its documentation describes both Core Suite with separately metered Model Hub Usage and Enterprise Flex with pooled credits. The applicable agreement determines billing. Desktop, browser and mobile access require a company-provisioned account; the free mobile download does not provide a free Glean service.

- Businesses with knowledge spread across workplace apps
- Enterprise teams building governed AI agents

Is Glean free?
Glean is an enterprise service. Its mobile app can be downloaded free, but requires a Glean account provided by your company administrator.
How much does Glean cost?
The public documentation explains its licensing models without listing a standard seat price. Core Suite, Model Hub Usage and Enterprise Flex have different commercial terms; the organisation’s agreement determines the total.
Does every Glean query use FlexCredits?
Under Enterprise Flex, ordinary Fast Mode queries with basic or standard models are included. Premium models, agent runs and other advanced capabilities can consume credits. Core Suite uses a separate Model Hub Usage model.
Does Glean search content I cannot access?
Indexing connectors mirror permissions from the source application. Search results follow those controls; tools also have their own administrative and user approval settings.
Are live tools the same as searchable connectors?
No. A live tool can retrieve current data or perform an action without indexing the source. Searchable content needs an appropriate indexing connector or Indexing API integration.
Can developers embed Glean in their own applications?
Yes. Glean provides Search, Chat and Agents APIs plus a Web SDK. Usage and charges depend on the API and the organisation’s licensing model.
