Search research with a growing set of AI marketing tools
Ahrefs is a broad search and marketing platform. Site Explorer shows organic keywords, leading pages, backlinks and paid-search activity for competing sites. It helps identify which subjects attract attention and which pages earn links. The results are research estimates and vendor metrics; they are distinct from the actual visits and conversions recorded in a site’s own analytics.
Brand Radar adds two ways to study AI search. Custom Prompts tracks questions you choose, with response details, brand mentions, citations and tags. Tracking can run daily, weekly or monthly; each platform, location and update uses a separate check. The AI Visibility Index explores brands across a larger database of prompts modelled from Ahrefs search data. A paid suite’s included custom-prompt tracking is separate from paid AI-index access and larger prompt packages.
AI Content Helper compares drafts with top-ranking pages, suggests topics and search intents, and provides AI rewriting, summaries and expansion. It also supports title, description and heading ideas. Brand Kits draw on existing articles to guide tone. Free accounts include one document each month, while paid content packages increase that allowance. Same-document team collaboration is listed for Enterprise accounts.
Ahrefs Free offers ongoing limited access without a card. Site Explorer, Site Audit and Web Analytics require verified website ownership; AI Content Helper and the SEO Toolbar do not. Free Site Audit includes 5,000 monthly crawl credits per project. The paid suite expands research coverage and limits, with additional users, content products and AI visibility packages priced separately.
